ORGANIC KIDS CLOTHES
MY GREEN KIDS
Our family was born between 1986 and 1991 and all three children are all fully grown and thriving now in 2009. It really does seem to go so fast. We were very caught up in our kids lives and barely had the time or the money to think about things like finding a place to buy organic clothing for them. It seemed quite far fetched back then. The best we could do was to buy or share recycled clothing, from the thrift shops and with our friends & neighbors, in the hopes that the recycled clothes had been washed many times and hopefully all the toxic chemicals had been washed out; down the drain and into our kids future water supply forever!. Back then, this was the best we could do.
How I envy the young parents of todays' babies; so many more options for providing this next generation of kids with toxin free childhoods, so that at least their brains, immune systems and organs can develop without the bombardment of chemicals.
It is still challenging in a small way, in that you can't just go to any shopping mall & grab what you need for your kids. Not every town has a great selection of green clothes for kids and there is still a lack in organic jeans for kids sizes. However, the green-o-sphere takes up the slack, with so many green on-line shopping websites offering quality organic clothing and organic everything your kids need really. Though we must still keep trying to influence our local stores & big box chains to buy more organic clothes to put on their store shelves, I am thrilled to see how easy it is in 2009 for parents to raise their children in a toxin free personal environment.
