ORGANIC CAT FOOD RECIPE
In this first video, you learn how to make a safe, organic healthy homemade food for your cat.
RECIPE FOR HOMEMADE MEAT, CHICKEN OR FISH CASSEROLE FOR CATS
Please try to use all organic ingredients for this cat food recipe where possible; It is safer and healthier for your cat and for the whole environment.
STEP (1) Boil a pound or two of chicken, turkey, lamb, beef or fish: use a combination of meat, (such as chicken breasts, fish, stewing beef) and other animal parts, such as livers, hearts, and
giblets in a large soup pot. NOTE: Brown or white rice can be added as well if your cat suffers from diarrhea problems. Add about one cup of rice to 2 lbs of meat. Cook the meat and/or rice mix at a rolling boil in a small amount of water until they are ALL tender and thoroughly cooked, especially the meat, since you will want to store your batch of cat food in the fridge and freezer. The bacteria in raw or uncooked meat can live and multiply, even when frozen, to the point where your cat could become very ill.
STEP (2) Add one cup of green beans or other legumous vegies, such as roma beans, broad beans, yellow wax beans, fava beans and any other kind of bean in their fresh pod state, (not dried or canned beans). Let your kitty's stew cook for another 15 minutes on medium low, until the beans are tender or you can presteam the vegies and add them at the end of the meat cooking time.
STEP (3) Remove the stew from heat and let cool thoroughly.
STEP (4) Puree or coursely chop the cooled mixture in a food processor or blender. Chop it up chunky style or puree it smooth, whichever style of stew your cat prefers. Then, add enough chicken broth to make it the consistency that your kitty likes. Some cats like it served runny like soup, while others prefer a more stew like or casserole type meal. Experiment before finshing your food; let kitty try a few different styles until the preferred one is obvious.
STEP (5) As soon as your homemade cat food has cooled, store it IMMEDIATELY in an airtight container in your refrigerator for 3 days or in the freezer for 4 weeks, to be thawed as needed.
TIP: Cats dislike cold food straight from the refrigerator, so microwave or heat it on medium power for approximately ten seconds, just long enough so that kitty's dinner isn't cold and not too hot either! Remember, cats are hunters and often prefer their food at body temperature, or luke warm as we call it.

RECIPE FOR HOMEMADE VEGETARIAN DOG FOOD
Before changing your dog's diet to vegetarian, Please consult with your pet's health care provider if there are any health issues or concerns. Most dogs thrive on a vegetable based diet as long as it is high protein and contains all the vitamins and minerals that their systems require. The reviews by dog lovers who switched their pet over to an organic, vegetarian diet are positive; glossy coats, no allergies, better breath, better other end, more energy and less neurosis. It should actually cost less to feed your dog a vegie, legume & grain diet, given the price of meat these days. Some dog owners are letting their pets be part time vegetarians - just having meat 1 day/week. It is certainly OK to compromise this way, perhaps even using meat every other day at first to allow your dog to adapt to the new food types.

This is a tried and true recipe. My parents dog loves it. A nice vegie meatloaf makes a great homemade gift too, for dog loving family & friends. Just wrap the meatloaf unsliced in a nice basket of treats and other organic items for dogs.
